Walking alongside you, from pregnancy to pēpi.
Hana Midwifery is a small, close-knit practice founded by Ana and Harriet, offering warm, evidence-based, personalised care through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, whatever path you choose.

Two midwives. One team. Continuity of care you can rely on.
We understand that every pregnancy journey is unique. Every whānau comes with their own experiences, values, hopes and challenges, and getting to know the people we care for is central to how we work. Our philosophy is built on partnership, informed choice, and continuity of care, so you always feel respected, heard and empowered.
Antenatal Care
Full pregnancy care from early confirmation through to birth: routine screening, scans, and unhurried appointments to talk through your options.
Labour & Birth Support
We support physiological birth and attend home births, primary birthing units, and Wellington Regional Hospital, wherever feels right for you.
Postnatal Care
Ongoing visits and support for you and your pēpi in the days and weeks after birth, including feeding, recovery and newborn screening.
You'll have one primary midwife, and a whole team behind you.
Your chosen midwife is your primary Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) and will provide most of your care. Ana and Harriet keep each other up to date on every whānau in their care, so if your primary midwife is ever unavailable, the other already knows your situation and can step in.
To keep things sustainable, we alternate weekends off and cover each other's caseloads, meaning there is always someone available who knows you, day or night.
